OUR PERSPECTIVE
Long-term insight, tested systematically.
Conviction in technological progress must coexist with demanding standards for signals, valuation and implementation. We seek evidence that can be tested repeatedly and assess research quality across market regimes, out-of-sample observations and portfolio outcomes. For opportunities that warrant time, patience is part of the investment method.
Research Focus
Technology & Economic Rationale
AI, semiconductors, computing infrastructure and technology applications inform research questions about demand, earnings and market behavior. Every signal should have an economic source, a reason for possible persistence and identifiable decay conditions. Industry growth, valuation expansion and security-specific effects are examined separately.
Data Quality & Reproducibility
Validation begins with data: timestamps, universe coverage, corporate-action adjustments, missing observations and point-in-time availability. These checks address look-ahead and survivorship bias. Fixed research rules, version records and retained failed experiments make conclusions traceable to data, assumptions and the evidence available at the time.
Industry Exposure & Signal Contribution
Rising technology stocks do not, by themselves, validate a model. Peer universes, randomized samples and market benchmarks help test whether a signal improves return-distribution quality, risk-adjusted outcomes or portfolio diversification. Sensitivity to parameter choices, sample selection and execution frictions is examined so a favorable market episode is not mistaken for a durable research advantage.
Holding Horizons & Return Realization
Signals and holding horizons must be considered together. The same signal cohort is compared across observation windows for return distributions, drawdown paths, capital use and sample completeness. This distinguishes among holding horizons and forms of trend exposure. Incomplete observations are identified separately so the information gained over time is represented accurately.
Market Regimes & Forward Validation
Signal effectiveness depends on the environment. Trends, volatility, liquidity and style rotation inform out-of-sample validation and forward monitoring of historical relationships. When evidence weakens or market structure changes, research should define in advance when to reduce risk budgets, suspend inclusion or reformulate the research hypothesis.
From Signals to Portfolio Quality
Portfolio assessment places correlation, sector concentration, turnover constraints, market capacity, execution frictions and risk exposures within one framework. A signal’s statistics become decision-relevant only under real capital constraints and implementation conditions. We assess systematic research through the interpretability of return drivers, alignment with risk budgets and sustainability of the research process.
Conviction in Direction. Discipline in Evidence.
A constructive long-term view on technology does not make every technology asset attractive at every price. Industry judgment, systematic evidence and valuation must support one another, with the holding thesis reviewed continuously. Out-of-sample observations, forward monitoring and cost analysis are necessary to assess a model’s practical role in a portfolio.
